“… We do not have any pictures of Addy hanging in the house, but we have all of the pictures you did of Izzy (older sister) everywhere. It was long overdue for us to have family pictures, and I wanted some of Addy the same age as the pictures of Izzy.
The reason we chose to work with you, is because we LOVE the pictures you took of Izzy, and I wanted similar photos. We had a cheaper photography session (with another photographer) when I was pregnant, and when Addy was a newborn, but they don’t compare to the beautiful work you do.
You take much more time and effort than any other photographer, and pay attention to the details, and really want us to have beautiful pictures that we can hang in our home for years to come.
Just seeing the RAW pictures, they were exactly what I was looking for, even more. I can’t imagine the outcome of the retouched/edited pictures. Everything is perfect. I took some ideas/samples of what I liked, and you did exactly what I wanted, even more!!! 🙂
To prepare for the session, we…
Looked at your website, looked at Pinterest, and used similar pictures of Izzy (like the one with the letter blocks) that I wanted of Addy.
Addy is at the stage where she wants to explore everything, feel everything, and put everything in her mouth. She is sitting up on her own, but not crawling yet. I wanted to capture some of her signature poses/faces at this time in her life.
Izzy loves to dress like a princess, twirl around in dresses, and have long hair “like Rapunzel.” She is loving school and everything she learns. She is a very good big sister, is very helpful around the house, and loves to spend time with Addy. She is very good at calming her down if she is upset, and loves to make her laugh.
Addy loves to cuddle, hug, give kisses, play, grab things, eat milk and baby food, and play with toys. She LOVES to play and chew on the tag on just about any animal, piece of clothing, or blanket. She loves to lay on her tummy and scoot herself around or roll across the room.
Izzy loves the color pink, and anything princess related. She is a true girl. She loves macaroni and cheese, Rapunzel, Frozen and any Disney fairytale.
As a family, we love to go to the park, take walks, and play at home.
This session truly shows the love our family has for each other, the age of the girls, and especially the love they have for each other.”
“My daughter just turned one, which is a nostalgic milestone in itself. I really wanted to capture her personality and every little detail about her at this precious age! It’s hard to believe that my little baby is growing so fast!
Brynlee loves singing songs, playing outside, any and every dog, and pizza! She also loves to cheer on her older siblings at softball, soccer, and hockey. Strangely, she also loves to watch football! (As a family we like to take walks, play at the park, and go swimming!)
Brynlee just started walking and is oh so proud of herself!
For my little one, the most important thing I needed for this photography session was my singing voice! She loves music and we did quite a bit of singing to get her attention during the photo shoot…Thank you Marina for joining right in with our songs…I can’t believe how much fun Brynlee had with you during our shoot!
In past photo sessions with other photographers, I was always trying to plan every little detail myself…the outfit, the pose, the props, even the lighting because I wanted that perfect shot. But let’s face it…I am not a photographer. I finally realized that I wanted someone with expertise and artistry that I could trust. It was wonderful to be able to express what I wanted to get out of the session, and then just hand it over to you. Your talent and attention to detail were outstanding!
The final images really do speak for themselves.
Your knowledge of lighting really shows in the final pictures. I also loved your suggestions on outfit and accessory choices…they were perfect for the look we were going for and I very much appreciated that you were then able to find locations and use props that matched that same “feel”.
The pictures are truly amazing! You captured her personality perfectly and were even able to get all of her different expressions that I know and love! I appreciated the assortment of poses and background settings too. The attention to detail is evident…I never had to worry about getting the perfect smile only to see that the prop had fallen over! I will truly treasure these pictures! I can’t help but look at them over and over again!”
Brynlee was such a joy to photograph! Zachary turned 1! He is outspoken, independent and very handsome little guy 🙂
Here is what Zach’s mom shared about the photo session:
“We chose this session to commemorate Zach’s first birthday. When planning, I found it very helpful to visit your studio prior to the sessions. I was able to see what props were available. It was also an opportunity for you to meet Zach and see how his personality would affect the shoot.
… Zach loves being outdoors surrounded by water and rocks. That made the location of his photo session perfect. We were so happy with prior sessions you had taken at that location.
His favorite color is red and he loves throwing balls and reading books. Zach had his picture taken with a stuffed longhorn, named Bevo, in support of his father’s alma mater. The stuffed animal was used in his newborn pictures and in every monthly picture the past year.
We are very happy with the proofs and can’t wait to see the prints! “
I loved this session with Nora and her parents just as much as I had enjoyed each and every session with this family! These 2 amazing parents instill happiness that Nora radiates into the world! I am blessed to watch this family grow for 3 years now… and I Love them to pieces!
Here is what Nora’s mom had emailed me to share with you all…
“…Nora has a deep love for reading and being read to. She loves all things animals with hippos and horses being her favorite animals at the moment. Lately she’s into playing dress up and putting together puzzles. Thanks to our most recent vacation, she now has a deep love for donuts!
Nora’s vocabulary is continuously growing. Everyday she surprises us by putting more words into sentences! It’s a joy to listen to her. Physically she loves to jump, spin, toss and catch. One of her great accomplishments right now is potty training even though we haven’t completely mastered it, she insists on doing things all on her own. We love that she is so eager to learn and is usually willing to try things at least once. Dad and I couldn’t be prouder of this precocious, independent girl!
As a family we love to travel, read together at bedtime, ride bikes, go for walks in our neighborhood or to the park. Enjoying dinner at the table every evening is a must for us as we like to share each others day.
And of course we choose to continue to use you as our photographer because of your ability to capture raw emotion in your images. Your always willing to do what it takes to make our entire family feel comfortable in front of the camera. Of course your patience with Nora has always been remarkable. You always make her feel at ease!
..I was hesitant about the outcome due to the dreary weather that day but was pleasantly surprised that the weather had no impact on our session. Once again your images didn’t disappoint! Our portraits are beautiful!
This session reflects on the connection we share as a family along with our individual relationships with Nora. Although Nora shares a different connection with me than that of her father, both are very important in shaping her as well as our family.
I wanted to capture the final weeks of my pregnancy along with our final days as a family of three. I wanted images that I could look back on to remind me of when it was just the three of us. A time when Nora taught us so much by making us parents.”
